Brotherhood 2.0: May 8th: House Hunters

Good morning Hank, it's Tuesday May 8th, 10th? 8th? It's an even numbered day in May. A commenter recently had an idea that we should release a Brotherhood 2.0 calendar to increase the Funds to Decrease World Suck, and I think that's a great idea. It would be exactly like a regular calendar, except without weekends, and also the date would always be wrong.
Hank we're in the airport in New York City on our way to go house hunting in Indianapolis. This will be my first time visiting Indianapolis as a, you know, resident. Hank, there were several happy birthday messages that got lost in my email that I'll have to show you on Thursday, but for now I don't have them because we're in the airport and I don't have my computer and I don't really know what's goin on and we gotta go house hunting. We're very busy we gotta meet Penny the realtor, there's a lot going on. But, I will show you those happy birthday greetings on Thursday.
Also, during the Happy Birthday Top Secret Project I learned a lot of interesting things about our Nerdfighters. For instance, did you know, and this is entirely true, one of the Nerdfighters is going to be competing this year in the National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C. Hank we have a semi-professional speller!
Hank in other news, Maureen Johnson's book the Bermudez Triangle seems to have been sort of half way unbanned. Specifically the school administration is now arguing that they didn't ban the book at all in the first place, they just recommended that it be banned, and then removed it from the shelf, which somehow does not constitute banning. Anyway, it seems like our letters have worked and now it's just a matter of seeing if the school superintendent agrees that the book should stay on the shelves.
Observation: people look at you funny when you scream into a camera at the airport at 7:10 in the morning.
Hey Hank, while we're here at the airport I thought we might go to Hudson News to see what's goin on in the world. (Star) What's Wrong with Brit's Baby! Is not a sentence that ends in an exclamation point.
(in hotel) Hank, most of that video was filmed at like 7 o'clock this morning at the airport, and now we're in Indianapolis and it's like 11 o'clock at night and I only have about 30 minutes to upload and edit it and do everything with my Brotherhood 2.0 video and I'm extremely stressed out and plus we saw like 12 houses today and they were all nice but they also all need work and it was really really really really really really really really stressful and the last thing I want to do is come home and have to make a video.
Hank, you know when I get stressed out you know what I do? I do this thing (runs hands through hair) I do the puff? I do the puff up? I do the constant puff up? I've been doing the puff up all day (shots of him making puffing all over) You see Hank, in my life, the puff level has a direct correlation to the stress level. The puff level is high, so the stress level is high. Don't get me wrong. Shopping for houses is really really really fun, it's exciting and it feels good, and the houses are interesting and everything else, but it's also, scary. So the puff level is high, and the stress level is high. And Hank, on Thursday I'm going to need you to help me pick a house. I'll see you tomorrow.

Brotherhood 2.0 would like to wish a very belated but very happy 30th birthday to Shanon James. Nerdfighters!

May 7th: Birthday Extravaganza

(in a go-kart) Good morning John, it's Monday, May 9th.
(basement) 7th, not 9th. 26 was a good age. I liked it. Lots and lots of good things happened. The last day of being 26 was a great day.
I woke up, came downstairs and watched about a hundred nerdfighters give me the best birthday greeting I have ever had. And then about halfway through the day my people got a call from John Kerry's people. And when I say my people got a call, I mean one of his assistants sent me an e-mail asking if I would like to interview him. Yes I- I would like to interview John Kerry!
So that was a nice birthday present. And then, Katherine took me to see Spiderman 3.
Which was really bad. I mean generally I like any movie that's loud enough that I can fart during and no one will hear it, but I like at least a little bit of depth. I feel like they just shaved everything off the top and decided well, pssh, what do we need a writer for? We'll just pay 300 million dollars for special effects and everyone will go see it. Ya know, they were right. But that doesn't mean that's what they should do. But what's important is that we got a call before the movie started. And it was you, John, calling to tell us Neil Gaiman had posted a link to brotherhood2.com on his blog.
HOO HA!
There's not much better than having someone who you're a big fan of be a fan of something you're doing. That just feels good. Thanks Neil. And then, we came home and read Brotherhood2.0 comments. (holds up box) and ate mini corn dogs. My girl knows how to make me happy.
Additionally from Katherine I recieved: (holds up each item) Mountain Dew, Pop-Tarts, and chocolate bars. This one has baby rhinoceros chunks in it!
And from people besides Katherine: A Jet Back Cowboy Bee-bop action figure from my dad. From Brian, Jim Beam Black. From Melissa, an anatomical gummy heart. And from Kelly, this amazing nerdfighter shirt (shows T-shirt with nerds united against jock). The Nerdfighters united! YOU'RE IN TROUBLE NOW!
I'm gonna do it. I'm just- ya know, I might as well do it on camera. (opens and eats gummy heart) At least it tastes good.
So you wouldn't think that my actual birthday could be much better than my day before my birthday would you? And really, it wasn't because I didn't wake up to the amazingness that was the Secret Project. But, I did have a bloody fantastic time. It was also my friend's Jeff Lavoy's 30th birthday, so we had a combined birthday extravaganza in three parts.
First Part: Amazing Mexican Food at Heraldo's.
Second Part: Qwivals Family Fun Center! (clips of time spent) I mean, really, you can't get much cooler than this. I got to spin the birthday wheel, and I won a cookie, there was a ridiculously amazing inflatable obstacle coarse, which I totally kicked everybody's ass at. Probably the awesomest part of Qwivel's is the go-kart racing. Which we did a lot, and pretty much all day. There was also miniature golf, which Katherine destroyed everyone at. Polishing off her victory with a final hole-in-one.
And there was laser tag, which I didn't record any of, because it was dark and I was afraid of breaking my camera. (shows image of dragon from park) Look how happy that dragon is!
Part 3! Drinking...a lot. At bars. In Missoula. Surrounded with guys with sombreros on, because it's always like that on my birthday. What are you gonna do?
Thank you everyone for making my birthday so amazing. I loved all of my birthday messages from everyone around the world. I don't think anyone ever in the history of the world has had comparable birthday experience to the one I just had. Certainly, no one has eaten half of an anatomical gummy heart, washed it down with some Mountain Dew, and then said thank you to a hundred people that he's never met for wishing him such a wonderful happy birthday. And their wishes for my happy birthday somehow became manifested in reality and I had one of the happiest birthdays of my life. Thank you all so very much. John, I will see you tomorrow.

Brotherhood 2.0: May 4: The Top Secret Project

(three young girls hold up Happy Birthday Hnak signs)
Good morning, Hnak, today is Friday, May 4th, tomorrow is Saturday, May 5th, your 27th birthday.
(clips of submissions)
Hank remember when I told you that the top secret project involved some kind of viral marketing? I was lying! I don't even know what viral marketing is!
(clips)
Happy birthday, Hank.

Brotherhood 2.0: April 26: Hollywood Meetings

(shot of torso clapping, kneels down) Hank, that's your standing ovation for the Helen Hunt song.
(at beach) Good morning, Hank, it's Thursday April 26th. The Pacific Ocean is behind me and Los Angeles is in front of me. (inside) Hank it's been a day of crazy Hollywood meetings. And so I thought I'd give you a quick run through of everything that's happened. First my agent and I were walking down the beach in Los Angeles when we came across this sculpture (shot of sculpture) and I was like, what is that a sculpture of? It sure looks like a sculpture of something dirty! And then I walked around it and uh- it's the Virgin Mary. Weird!
(show of yellow car parked obnoxiously) Mission for the Nerdfighters: find this guy (License plate says SHEERAZ) (in car) statistical chances I don't like that guy? 100%. (shot of red hummer, middle finger) Hank this is the most important meeting I have today, it's with people who might want to turn An Abundance of Katherines into a movie. In retrospect, I probably shouldn't have eaten a whole barbeque chicken pizza about twelve minutes ago over the course of about 48 seconds. (burps)
Hank do you remember when you were in, like, eighth grade and it occurred to you for the first time that there were people who might actually like you and be willing to be your friend, and how exciting that was? It seems to me that everyone in Los Angeles is stuck in eighth grade. They're still so excited about the chance that somebody, somewhere might like them. Oh my God, I like you so much! I like you too, you're great! I love you, you look great in that!
(techno plays) Also Hank, everywhere you go there are speakers like this pointed outside playing music like that. (camera dances to beat)
OK, Hank, it's time for the meeting. Here we are outside the building. I'm gonna show you what it looks like, real quick. They're very very welcoming. Check it out Hank (shot of room filled with frames and birdhouses) It's like the opposite of Los Angeles. I mean you have to say, per square inch, it contains more items than any other place I've ever been inside of. I'm remind a little bit of my college girlfriend Marie Ponzillo, who's parents had the largest Santa Claus collection on the East Coast. You know what I keep thinking? Mom would be so happy here. (shot of room) I mean to Mom? This would be like, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate factory. She would just be so happy.
Hank I have great news! I can see into the future (shot of fortune telling toy)
Toy: Ask me what's on your mind.
John: Here's my question for Madam See More, is it ever gonna happen between Hank and Helen Hunt?
Toy: My crystal ball says: Highly doubtful. Ask me what's on your mind.
John: Umm, would I do a good job writing the Abundance of Katherines screenplay?
Toy: Psychic energy suggests: it's not in the stars.
John: Dang.
Toy: I am thinking it over, absolutely, positively, definitely.
John: But, you just told me no.
Toy: The wisdom of the ages tells me: ask me again later
(back in room) So anyway Hank, the meeting ended up going really well, Madam See More be damned. See you tomorrow.
